"Dr. Debbie" S. DeKay: Dr. Debbie earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree and completed dental school at the University of Detroit Mercy, graduating in 2009. Looking for more sunshine and warmer weather, she moved to San Antonio in the summer of 2009 to begin her pediatric dental residency at UTHSC San Antonio.
Growing up just north of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Debbie has a great love for outdoor activities such as running, biking, water sports, hiking, volleyball, scuba diving, tennis and swimming. Here in San Antonio, she also enjoys spending time with her sister, two small nieces and friends, and also finds great joy in volunteering with her church’s youth group.
Dr. Debbie has a great heart and passion for doing dental mission work for the underprivileged. She has been blessed with the opportunity to serve in the country of Honduras many times and hopes to continue with serving there in the future. She also enjoys opportunities to serve at the local Haven for Hope dental clinic, serving the dental needs of the homeless and refugees from abroad relocated to San Antonio.
Dr. Debbie has a huge passion and heart for working with children. Her goal is to help children feel comfortable and welcomed into the dental office environment and help them enjoy their experiences there!

- Dr. Al Burns received his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Ohio State University and Nationwide Children's Hospital in June 2009. His education included advanced studies and specialized training in dentistry for children, adolescence, special needs, and medically compromised patients. His training also specializes in sedation, anesthesia dentistry, and interceptive orthodontics. He also received his Master's of Science Degree from Ohio State University. Dr. Burns graduated from the University of Nebraska Dental School in 2007, and received his Bachelor's Degree from Utah State University in 2003. He directs all dental services including providing prophylaxis and dental care treatment for the patients of Alligator Dental. Dr. Al loves children, and has six of his own, which he shares with Lisa, his wife of ten years. In addition to his family and pediatric dentistry, other passions include football, fishing, and fireworks.
